Synopsis
Casey Ames, a teenager transplanted from New York City to a small town in Pennsylvania, is obsessed with becoming a detective. Her initial efforts, aided by Olivia Durbin, a hacker and her only friend, antagonize most of the student body, including Derek Carlsson, son of the owner of the local munitions plant, the town’s major employer. But the munitions plant may be in trouble. Oliver Durbin, the plant’s chief engineer and Olivia’s father, has a falling out with the CEO. While drinking at home, he learns of Casey’s dedication to ferreting out evil. He asks her to meet him after sunset in the town park to discuss a mystery. But when she arrives, she finds that he has been murdered.

She becomes the chief suspect in the case, ostracizing her even more. When Olivia begs her to investigate the murder, Casey reluctantly agrees. For Casey has secrets of her own, and her attempts to reveal the truth about the murder may ultimately reveal the truth about herself.

And the murderer may have something to say about all this.
